Tenets of Faith

WE BELIEVE:
1. THE TRINITY
One God who exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matt. 28:19, Lk 3:22, I John 5:7)

2. THE BIBLE
The verbally inspired word of God to man and is infallible and authoritative rule of faith and practice. (II Tim. 3:15-17, I Thess. 2:13, II Peter 1:21)

3. THE DEITY OF CHRIST
The deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, and sacrificial death; His glorious resurrection, exaltation and imminent return. (Jn. 1:10, Matt 1:23, Heb. 7:26, II Cor. 5:21, Matt. 28:6, 1 Cor. 15:4, Phil. 2:9-11.)

4. SALVATION
Salvation is obtained by grace through faith in Jesus. This salvation is received through repentance and submission to Jesus as Savior and Lord (Eph. 2:8,9, Jn 3:16, Rm. 10:10,11, Titus 3:4-7)

5. BAPTIST BY IMMERSION
Water baptism is commanded in Scripture as an outward expression of an inward work. A declaration to the world that the believer has died and risen with Christ to walk in the newness of life. All who repent and believe in Christ as Savior and Lord should be baptized. (Matt. 28:19, Acts 10:47, Acts 8: 37-38, Rm. 6:4)

6. HOLY COMMUNION
The Lord’s supper or Holy Communion is a symbol of our union with Christ and partaking of His divine nature; a memorial of His suffering and death, and a prophesy of His second coming. (II Peter 1:4, 1 Cor. 11;26)

7. BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
An experience subsequent to and distinct from the new birth. It endues the believer with power for life, witness and service, and is accompanied by supernatural manifestation, deepened reverence for God, an intensified dedication to God and his work, and a more active love for Christ, His word and the lost. (Acts 1:4, 8, 1 Cor. 12, Acts 8: 12-17, Heb. 12:28, Acts 2:42-43, Mk. 16:20)

8. DIVINE HEALING
Physical healing was provided for in the atonement of Christ and divine healing is available through the prayer of faith. (James 5:14-15)

9. SANTIFICATION
The act of separation from all which defile the flesh and spirit and complete dedication to God and His will. This represents the normal life of a Christian. All believer are required to sanctify themselves, this being made possible through the Word of God, the fellowship of the saints and the blessed Holy Spirit. (Heb. 12:14, Romans 12:1-2, I Thess. 5:23, Romans 6:1-11)

10. BODILY RESURRECTION OF THE SAINTS
The blessed hope of the Church being the bodily resurrection of believers, the millennial reign of Christ, the judgment of the wicked and the new heaven and the earth. (I Thess. 4:16-17, I Cor. 15:51, Mat 24:27-30, Rev. 21:22)

11. THE CHURCH
The body of Christ, the habitation of the Spirit, and the local church is the concrete expression of the general assembly. Every believer should as soon as possible become an active and integral part of a local church contributing to its and mission by offering his time, talents, tithes, other resources which the Lord may have need of to support His work. (Eph. 1:22, 2;13, 2:22, Heb. 12:23, Mal. 3:10, 1 Cor. 12)
