The Cock Roach Beatbox/Missionary Field Report/March 2015

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”                                                                                   Isaiah 43:19

Reintroducing Silvanus Connect our self-sustainable arm to operate our ministry programs: adult literacy, vacation school, math-a-thon, visual and performing arts.

In collaboration with UOF-250x250smallerJOOMLA

Silvanus International Ministries has improved and enhanced our Silvanus Connect program launching it February 19, 2015 in Whein Town, Bernards Farm.

Silvanus Connect is our economic empowerment program. Students of all ages progress for Intro to Computers to Computer Programming in two years. Students will then have the option of establishing their own kiosk providing Desktop Publishing or furthering their education in Computer Science or Information Technology.

This partnership allows Silvanus Connect to expand its program from Intro to Computers to now include, Microsoft Office, Computer Programming using Khans Academy and WebMaker by Mozilla Firefox. The courses are being phased in by quarter until all are incorporated into the program.

(Although a few of these programs are self-taught, the typical high school graduate in Liberia will not be able to so. They will need someone on-hand to assist in vocabulary and comprehension.)

Initially students pay a fee of $50, (a fraction of the expense)  Monday-Tuesday-Thursday from 10:00AM-12:00PM

This is a video used in our Intro to Computers Course. This and others videos have specifically selected to inform, inspire and encourage students, particularly in the developing countries, of the possibilities within technology. The videos help to form our lab time for the week.

Please take about 6 minutes and watch you won’t be disappointed!

Pray with us!

Sis Hattie
