His Unchanging Love- Happy Sweet Hearts Day from Silvanus International

Micah 7 :18-17 International Version (NIV)

18 Who is a God like you,
who pardons sin and forgives the transgression
of the remnant of his inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever
    but delight to show mercy.
19 You will again have compassion on us;
you will tread our sins underfo1ot
and hurl all our iniquities into the depths  of the sea.

These words spoken by the prophet Micah are befitting to us this Valentines day. Michah’s name means “who is like the Lord.” He was a peasant farmer from a quiet village southwest of Jerusalem. His term as a prophet came during the reign of Hezekiah and his father King Ahaz.

In Jeremiah 31:41 we learn that God says with all His heart and all His soul is His love for us.

He does this in faithfulness, lovingkindness and compassion.

God is not a man that He should change His mind.

He loves us.  His love cannot change.

We can embrace it, if we consider our children. Our love for them can never change. It doesn’t matter what they do or don’t do, we still love them.

If we, as mere human beings have the capacity to do so, how much more can He who created us.

Micah says He doesn’t retain His anger forever. Apostle Paul says “No power in the sky above or in the earth below–indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:39

God loves us. We can count on it. We can depend on it.

For love comes from God.

He is love.

He loves us.

For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10

“By this love of God manifests in us that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, so that we might live through Him.” John 4:9

And Christ died for sinners; not only such as were useless, but such as were guilty and hateful; such that their everlasting destruction would be to the glory of God’s justice. Christ died to save us, not in our sins, but from our sins; and we were yet sinners when he died for us. Romans 5:6

I trust in God’s unfailing love forever and ever” (Psalm 52:8).
