Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19
As training begins for the 6 teachers in a nearby church…construction continues on the new campus. This $601, 000 dollar project by the Global Partnership in Education by the World Bank is due to be completed April 2014.
Silvanus in partnership with the village of Feetuah is committed to equipping the teachers as 21st Century educators.
In our passage we indeed see a “new thing has sprung forth” in the wilderness. The school has been a mud hut school since 1996. The teachers at one time taught school for two years without pay until the government of Liberia took notice, by God’s grace, and put the school and the teachers under government ownership.
Feetuah was the first school selected out of sixteen counties in the nation of Liberia. Our training agreement is they give me a place to sleep, meals and pay for my public transportation to and from the village and I will train them with the latest and greatest in computer learning and teaching for educators, the first Saturday of every month.
This is my first home of 3 yrs, 14 years ago when I began my vocation as a full-time missionary in Liberia.
I have always liked and admired the faith and determination of the small village of about 50-75 families. The teachers are inquisitive, logical and deep thinkers. You can almost hear their brains churning. They ask well thought out questions.
Our God is Great, and Greatly to be Praised! He is simply amazing!
Pray with us.
